Virginia (Jean) Ruth Austin

    Funeral services for Virginia (Jean) Ruth Austin, 80 of Vernon, who died on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, in Vernon, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Gib Baskerville. Interment will be held at Chillicothe Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Austin was born Wednesday, Aug. 22, 1934 in Chillicothe.  She was the daughter of the late Ernest Alvie Kitchens and the late Eliza Elizabeth Millsap Kitchens. She was a graduate of East Lamar High School class of 1952. She worked for Vernon Manufacturing Co., Woods Nursing Home, Vernon State Hospital and Amarillo Kimberly Care Home Health. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Vernon. She was a homemaker.
   She is survived by one daughter, Kelly Rich of Vernon; two sons, Kent King of Vernon and Mickey King of Amarillo; two sisters, Betty Griffin of Houston and Elizabeth Shipton of Houston; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters.
   Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at Sullivan Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
   Pallbearers will be Nicholas Rich, Bubba Rich, Jeremy Ritter, Freddie King, Donnie King and Jerry Ray King.
