Frances McArthur

   Funeral services for Frances McArthur, 83 of Vernon, who died on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, in Wichita Falls, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at the Calvary Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Anthony Eaton. Interment will be at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   McArthur was born Monday, June 22, 1931 in Cameron, the daughter of the late Robert Miller Sr. and the late Mary Debose Miller. She married William (Diddy) McArthur on June 21, 1949 in Cameron. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 2004. She had lived in Vernon for many years since 1949. She worked for Vernon State Hospital Food Service & Nursing Service and for Vernon ISD  in food service. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for over 60 years, a choir member, deaconate, and on the Mother’s Board. She was a homemaker.
   She is survived by two sons, Charles McArthur and Larry McArthur, both of Vernon; two daughters, Patricia Palmer of Vernon and Stacey Bly of Denton; two sisters, Marie Jackson of Kress and Ophila Rosemand of San Antonio; 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, William McArthur Jr., and Carl McArthur; a grandson, Anthony McArthur; two brothers, Robert Miller Jr., and L.V. Miller, and one sister, Eva Wilson.
   Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2014 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
