Richard Glen Dickerson
Funeral services for Richard Glen Dickerson, 72, who died on Jan. 26, 2015, will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday Jan. 29, 2015 at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Toby Castleberry officiating. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Dickerson was born in Wilbarger County to Elvin and Lula Belle Dickerson on Feb. 7, 1942. He married Sue Roberson on Feb. 24, 1962. He was a 1960 graduate of Oklaunion High School. He was a lifelong resident of Vernon where he made a career of farming, ranching and hay hauling. He was also a lifelong active member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Roberson; two sons, Derrek Dickerson of Granbury and Scott Dickerson of Vernon; two grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy Dickerson of Garland, Weldon Dickerson of Quanah and David Dickerson of Tyler; one sister, Paula Wilson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.
Memorials may be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch or a favorite charity.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Jones, Alan Ray Bo Jones, Don Lewis, Ricky Koch, Keith Bradford and Bobby Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Reyna, Randy Echols, Ken Butler and Kirk Butler.
