Tomas Ayala
Tomas Ayala, 75 of Harrold, Texas died on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, in Harrold. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Aintwine. Interment will be held at Harrold Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Ayala was born Wednesday, Oct. 25, 1939 in Cisco. He was the son of the late Abelino Garcia and the late Felicity Cervantes. He married Dona Louise Pate on May 30, 1967 in Vernon. She preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 2002. He received his Master Degree from Central Texas College. He was a psychologist for Vernon State Hospital, then psychologist for Texas Youth Commission. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving four tours as a combat infantryman,E-7 Sgt First Class. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and several more awards. He also served 20 years in the United States Army. He attended the Central Christian Church.
He is survived by his sons, Billy Jack Brown of Harrold and Scott Duwayne Ayala of Henrietta; one daughter, Laura Kiser of Wichita Falls; four brothers, Robert Garcia of Laurel, Ms., Johnny Garcia of Breckenridge, Al Garcia of Katy and David Garcia of Ranger; one sister, Rose Dennis of Laurel, Ms., and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to the Archer City Service Center, Hospice of Wichita Falls, and a favorite charity.
