Dorthy Streit Wisdom

   Dorothy Streit Wisdom, 94, died on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 in Thalia. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, in the First Baptist Church in Crowell with the Rev. Ron Fox of the Western Trail Cowboy Church of Lockett officiating. Interment will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Womack-Manard Funeral Home of Crowell.
Dorothy was born on Feb. 20, 1920 in the Streit Community south of Lockett. She was the daughter of the late George and Lena Kahl Streit. She married J.C. (Jake) Wisdom on June 11, 1947 in Lockett.                                                                                                                                                                                                       She was a longtime resident of Thalia. She was a graduate of Five-In-One High School. She was a housewife and farmed for 60 years with her husband, until he passed away. She continued to operate the family farm with her children. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Lockett. She attended the Thalia Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church of Crowell. She was a devoted wife, Mema, mother, loyal daughter, sister, and friend and was known for her warm hospitality and wonderful cooking
   She is survived by three daughters, Cindy Wisdom, Mollye Hatfield and husband, Ray, and Pollye Moore and husband, Ronnie, all of Thalia; one son, Rocky Wisdom and wife, Gina, of Thalia; two sisters, Agnes Miller and Ruth Capps, both of Vernon; one brother, Robert Streit of Live Oak; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Wisdom of Lawton, Okla., and four grandchildren, Chance Moore, Chase Moore, Mardi Wisdom, all of Thalia, and Andi Bell and husband, Jake, of Bells, Texas.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Wisdom, on Aug. 6, 2007; two sons, Van and Andrew Wisdom; two sisters, Marguerite Rinefeldt and Annette McLean; three brothers, Homer, George, and Ernest Streit; 10 brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law.
   The family suggests memorials be made to the following: Thalia Cemetery, Western Trail Cowboy Church.
   Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at Womack-Manard Funeral Home in Crowell.
