Neta Emmett Woodard
Funeral services for Neta Emmett Woodard, 91 of Vernon, who died on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, in Vernon, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 at the First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Al Woodard and Gib Baskerville. A private family interment will be held at 10 a.m. at Eastview Cemetery before service under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Woodard was born Wednesday, Jan. 9, 1924 in Vernon. She was the daughter of the late Perry Monroe Emmett and the late Martha (Allie) Parker Emmett. She married Clois (Toby) Woodard on Jan. 25, 1942 in Fargo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2000. She was a lifelong resident of Northside Community. She was a graduate of Northside High School in 1940. She was a member of Wilbarger General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Bethany Sunday School Class. She was a former member of Fargo Baptist Church before it disbanded. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Mike Woodard of Plano, Pat Woodard of Hereford and Dan Woodard of Arlington; two daughters, Trisha Hanna and Kay White, both of Vernon; grandsons, Scott Woodard, Chris Woodard, Brian Woodard, Reagan White and Perry White; great-grandchildren, Ashley Woodard, Hustin Woodard, Dexter Woodard, Connor Woodard, Sarah Woodard and Lucas Woodard. She was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter, Linzy Woodard.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, Hospice of Wichita Falls or Northside Alumni Fund.
