Olga Rollans

   Olga Rollans, 100, a long time Vernon resident died Thursday, Feb. 12 at  her daughter’s home in Garland, Texas from a stroke.
  
Olga, a retired florist and artist was born Sept. 3, 1914 to Edgar D. and Eva Leora Winningham in Selfs, Tx. She married John Ralph (Mike) Rollans on June 8, 1936. They were married for 51 years until his death in 1987. She attended the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ until she moved to Garland in 2013.
  
Olga owned and operated Olga’s Flowers from 1956 to 1971. She was an active member of the Vernon Art League for many years and was a volunteer for the Benevolent Center and The World Bible Study ministries at her church.
  
Surviving are two sons, Ralph Rollans of Garland and Mickey Rollans and wife Dianne of San Antonio; one daughter, Evasue Firmin and husband Mike of Garland; five grandchildren from the Dallas and Austin areas, Jennifer Firmin, Ryan Rollans, Mike Rollans and wife Valerie, Greg Rollans, and Brad Rollans and wife Michele; one great-grandchild, Merideth Rollans of Allen, and several nieces and nephews.
  
Memorial services for her family and friends will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb 28, 2015 at the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ. Graveside rites for the family were held in the Wilbarger Memorial Park on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
