Beth Ann Ekern, 70, of Vernon, died on Wednesday March 11, 2015 in Vernon. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday March 16, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Long officiating.
Ekern was born on Sept. 25, 1944 in Vernon. She was the daughter of the late John Homer Gibson and the late Dorothy Madeline Mitchell Gibson. She married Paul Bax Ekern on June 19, 1965 in Vernon. She was a graduate of Vernon High School and attended Texas Tech University where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She retired from Vernon I.S.D. as a school aide. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had been a resident of Vernon for most all of her life.
Survivors are her husband, Paul Bax Ekern of the home; two daughters, Stephanie Wynn Kolban of North Richland Hills and Henri Madeline Naylor of Wichita Falls; two sons, Baxter Coke Ekern of Redmond, Ore., and Paul Brant Ekern of Vernon; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Family will be at 215 Atlanta Street, Vernon.
