Edith Lorene Lanning

   QUANAH – Edith Lorene Lanning, 68, of Quanah, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at The First Christian Church with Rev. Wayne Hollinshead officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.  
   Lanning was born Sept. 30, 1946 to the late David and Onita Hinsley Ritchie in Detroit, Texas.  She married Loyd Lanning on Nov. 9, 1964 in Quanah. She lived in Quanah most of her life and was a member of the Nazarene Church in Quanah. She was a member of the Women’s Professional Bowling Association in Oklahoma and formerly a professional woman’s bowler in the Enid, Okla. Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
   She is survived by her husband, Loyd Lanning of Quanah; two daughters, Barbara Ashford of Abilene and Joy Nell Smith of Colgate, Okla.; two sons, Tony Lee Lanning of Yukon, Okla., and Loyd Ray Lanning of Amarillo; one sister, Brenda Walters of Quanah; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Ritchie, Wiley Thompson, Bill Harris and J.D. Ritchie.
   Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home, Quanah.
