Linda Joy Miles
Linda Joy Miles age 72 of Vernon, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Vernon. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Eastviw Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Fox.
Linda Jot (Ming) Miles was born Thursday, April 23, 1942 in Vernon. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Ellie Gertrude (Herchman) Ming. She married Carl Junior Miles on Aug.1, 1963 in Vernon. She graduated from Vernon Regional Junior College LVN Program and was a nurse for many years before retiring. She was a member of the TOPS Club Chapter of Vernon. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, word search puzzles, cooking and watching her favorite television shows The Price Is Right, Wheel of Fortune and all of the CSI programs. She was a member of the Western Trail Cowboy Church in Vernon.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Junior Miles of the home; her son, Lorrin Chadd Miles of Fayetteville, N.C.; her daughters, Libby Caren Tidwell of Vernon and Lana Camille Hopkins of Vernon; four grandchildren, Brittany Ann Hopkins, Miles Allan Hopkins, Betty Dalelee Pruitt and Breezie Danielle Taylor; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Lance Clayton Miles, two brothers Floyd Fred Ming and Edward Herman Ming, four sisters Thelma Florence Baker, Gertrude Emma Reynolds, Lillian Edna Huff, and Bonnie Darlene Bailes and two nephews and a niece.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m., Tuesday, until service time at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to Western Trail Cowboy Church or favorite charity.
Pallbearers will be Roger Hopkins, Jr., Terry Hopkins, Matthew Conn, Greg Tyra, Mark Lytle, and James Pilcher.
