Wesley Howard (Buck) Frith
Wesley Howard (Buck) Frith, 96 of Vernon, died on Saturday, April 4, 2015, in Vernon. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the First Assembly of God Church. Officiating Rev. Brian Pounds. Interment will be at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Frith was born Sunday, Oct. 13, 1918 in Marietta, Okla. He was the son of the late Thomas Frith and the late Mattie Burks Frith. He married Marie Thompson on Sept. 13, 1941 in Electra. He had lived in Vernon all of his life. He served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1949 as a Corporal during WWII. He worked as a welder, and he was a Vernon City Commissioner for 14 years. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Lucille Frith of the home; two sons, Jimmy Frith of Trophy Club and Ricky Frith of Vernon; two daughters, Susan Hancock of Alvin and Dianne Rogers of Vernon; one sister, Opal Gibson of Guthrie, Okla.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
