Madelyn Matus

   Funeral mass for Madelyn Matus, 84 of Vernon, who died on Sunday, May 3, 2015, in Vernon, mass will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Issac Orozco, Deacon Jose Sanchez, and Deacon Art Casias. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Matus was born Thursday, Sept. 18, 1930 in Baylor County. She was the daughter of the late Fred Motl and the late Mary Simek  Motl. She married Robert Matus on June 5, 1951 in Baylor County. He preceded her in death April 3, 1990. She worked for VISD as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. She was a homemaker.
   She is survived by two sons, David Matus of Prosper and Bobby Matus of Vernon; two daughters, Diane Conover of Vernon and Melissa Irons of Monahans; one brother, Melvin Motl of Seymour; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
   Visitation will be held before the Rosary on Wednesday May 6, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., at Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Deacon Art Casias.
   Memorials can be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
