Thomas O. Ellis

   CROWELL – Thomas O. Ellis, 90, died on Sunday, May 3, 2015 in Quanah. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Womack-Manard Funeral Home Chapel in Crowell, with Larry Ellis, pastor of the Crowell Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in the Crowell Cemetery under the direction of Womack-Manard Funeral Home.
   Ellis was born Jan. 17, 1925 in Swisher County, Texas, a son of the late J.A. and Minnie Lenora Gay Ellis. He married Rosemary Robards on Sept. 5, 1945 in Brooklyn, N.Y.
   Ellis was a longtime resident of Crowell. He attended Flint Elementary School and graduated from Kress High School in Kress, Texas. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, where he served on the U.S.S. Franklin. He was a member of the VFW and the Crowell Lions Club. He was a member of the Crowell Church of Christ. He was a farmer and rancher and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad.
   Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Ellis of Crowell; one daughter, Sandra Davis of Blanchard, Okla.; one son, Larry Ellis of Crowell; one sister, Jerry Peek of Wichita Falls; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
   Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
   Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Womack-Manard Funeral Home, Crowell.
