Claudyn Bacon
Claudyn Bacon, 86, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in Vernon. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015 in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church.
Claudyn was born on June 20, 1928 in Altus, Okla. She married Dudley Fields in 1952 in Altus, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1971.
Claudyn moved to Vernon in 1950 where she worked at the Shipman Clinic. She later moved to Levelland and returned to Vernon in 1968. She and her late husband, Dudley Fields bought Henderson Funeral Home.
In 1973, she married Joe Bacon in Altus, Okla. She retired in 1998 from the State Hospital. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, a past member of the B&PW and a volunteer for USSV. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Bacon of the home; daughter, Patti Owen and husband, Bill, of Amarillo; step-daughter, Janet Everett of Kerrville; granddaughter, Whitney Owen of Amarillo; two great-granddaughters, Ellie Owen and Finley Mettham of Amarillo; one niece, Robyn Briscoe and husband, Brent, of Norman, Okla.; three great nephews and five brother and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Eva Fuqua; a brother, Gene Frazier, and a nephew, John-Michael Frazier.
