Bill Pittman

   Funeral services for Bill, Pittman, 71 of Vernon, who died on Saturday, June 27, 2015, in Wichita Falls, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday July 1, 2015 at the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Fox officiating, Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park in Quanah, Texas. Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home in Vernon.
   Pittman was born Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1943 in Eastland. He was the son of the late Jack Pittman and the late Opal Pittman. He married Cheryl Preston in 1975 in Eldorado, Okla. He had served in the United States Air Force from Aug. 8, 1962 to April 14, 1965. He attended Tarleton University where he received his Industrial Arts Degree. He retired after being a teacher for 25 years in the Vernon Independent School District at North Texas State Hospital. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Quanah, and he had been a resident of Vernon for most of his life.
    Surviving are wife, Cheryl of the home; four sons, Clifton Pittman of Weatherford, Kip Pittman of Quanah, Joshua Pittman of Quanah, and Andrew Pittman of Vernon; one daughter, Gigi Grant Pittman of Dallas, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Bob Pittman.
   Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday June 30, 2015 at the funeral home in Vernon.
   Pallbearers will be George Henry, Gerald Thiele, Herbert Downes, Gordon Gray, Jerry Clemens and Cody Ivy.
