James E. (Jimmy) Jones

   QUANAH – James E. (Jimmy) Jones of Quanah died on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 in Crowell. Memorial services will be held at 1p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Quanah, with the Rev. Wayne Hollinshead officiating.
   Jones was born July 25, 1935 to the late R. P. Jones and Marie Crow Jones in Vernon. He married Katherine Janet Jones in 1955.  He joined the service as a Marine from 1957 to 1959.  He became a master plumber at Jones Plumbing Company.  He served the community as a school board member and was a volunteer fireman for 20 years.   He served on the board at the Quanah Country Club.  Jones was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Quanah.
   He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janet; daughters, Connie Johnston and Candra Cade; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and an aunt, Sue Tidmore.
  Memorials may be made to the Quanah Fire Department or the First Christian Church, Quanah.
