Coy Dean Sr.
Coy Dean Sr., 88 of Vernon, died on Friday January 29, 2016 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Dave Winn officiating. Interment will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Coy was born on April 9, 1927 in Mountain Park, Okla. He was the son of the late Henry Dean and the late Myrtle Trammell Dean. He married Kate White on July 4, 1949 in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death on Feb. 23, 1998. He had served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a 35 year member of the Iron Workers Union Local 48. He had been a resident of Vernon and Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ. He was a retired iron worker and had worked in the construction steel industry.
He is survived by one son, Coy Dean Jr., and wife, Patricia of Katy, Texas; four grandchildren, Eric, Jeffrey, Melody and Mollie; two great grandchildren, Penelope and Oliver Dean. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and five sisters.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
