Quinton “Tex” Hampton returned to his heavenly home on Feb. 5, 2016 after a valiant battle against a long illness. He was 81 years old. His devoted family and his friends supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Quinton was born to the late Oscar and Alma Hampton, in Medicine Mounds, Texas on Dec. 28, 1934.
Quinton was blessed with and survived by loving family. He married Donna on March 9, 1963 in Lubbock, Texas. Quinton helped raise his one step-daughter, Debi Sellers, and one daughter Penny Featherston, and one step-son John Hicks in Lubbock and Vernon ,Texas.
He also has three grandchildren, Toni Porter, Nicki Sellers and Kendra Featherston; two great-grandchildren, Trinty and Taylor Porter, and two surviving siblings, Alene Duffie and Oscar B Hampton. He was preceded in death by his sons, John Hicks and Timothy Hampton; brother, Bill Hampton; and his sister, Dortha Townson.
He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator. There will be a memorial at a later date and time in Vernon, Texas.
