Essie Lee Shirley, 90 of Bowie, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, in Nocona. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2016 at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Little and Rev. Keith Walls officiating. Interment will be held at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Shirley was born Saturday, Oct. 31, 1925 in Bonham. She was the daughter of the late Jerry Lamar Fry and the late Adelia Barbara Ann Frazier Fry. She worked for Texas State Optical as an optical technician for 18 years. She was of Apostolic Pentecostal Victory Church in Bowie playing the bass guitar in the church band.
She is survived by her son, Loren Foster of Arlington; her daughter, Barbara Seabolt of Duncan, Okla.; two sisters, Roberta Barker of Duncan, Okla., and Lillie Barker of Bowie; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cleda Flint; four brothers Odist, Oscar, Gene and J.L. Fry; two sisters, Emmer Fry Morrison and Leona “Nook” Lethcher.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Monday before service time at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to Victory Church in Bowie.
