Our beloved sister and aunt, Coy Ann Holden, ended her journey on this earth on Monday, May 3, 2016, in San Marcos, Texas, at the age of 72. She was born in San Diego, California, and lived in Chillicothe, Texas, Hermosa Beach, California, Lewisville, Texas, and San Marcos, Texas.
Anyone who ever met Coy immediately fell in love with her, and that love was immediately reciprocated. She was a bright star who overcame physical and cognitive challenges with her sunny smile and huge heart.
Her parents, James Marvin Holden and Patricia Simmons Holden, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Patrice Holden Werner and husband Gary Werner of San Marcos, Texas, and brother Joe Holden and wife Joanna Holden of Lewisville, Texas. Coy especially loved her nieces and nephews Jreada Holden, Amy Jo Ramsay, Geoffrey Werner, Annie Werner, Josh Zoppoth, and Sarah Zoppoth, and her great-nieces and nephews Dylan Johnson, Jake White, Markus Furr, Araya Holden, and Franklin Brown.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living in San Marcos, Texas, where Coy lived happily for many years, Regent Care Center in San Marcos, where she was lovingly cared for in the last few weeks, and Bluebonnet Hospice and Palliative Care.
In lieu of flowers, please support organizations that advocate for or provide services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Graveside services will be Friday, May 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Chillicothe Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home in Vernon, Texas.
