John Urquizo Sr.

   CROWELL – John Urquizo Sr., 61, died on Saturday, May 14, 2016, in Dallas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in the First Baptist Church of Crowell with the Rev. Quenton Newton of Hilton, Okla., officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Manney of Norman, Okla., and the Rev. Ervin Asiatico of Crowell. Interment will be in the Crowell Cemetery under the direction of Womack-Manard Funeral Home, Crowell.
   Urquizo was born on June 26, 1954 in Haskell, a son of Daniel and Eva Lozano Urquizo Sr. of Crowell. He married Nora Ann Durham on Aug. 3, 1974 in Crowell.
He was a lifetime resident of Crowell. He was a 1973 graduate of Crowell High School, where he was a member of the 1971 State Track Team. He attended Vernon Regional Junior College and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He was a farmer and a butcher. He served as a Foard County Commissioner for 12 years. He worked with all Crowell Youth League Softball and the Little Dribblers program for 16 years. He was currently employed with the Crowell Independent School District.
   He is survived by his wife, Nora Ann Urquizo of Crowell; two daughters, Angela Johnson and husband, Doug, and sons, Trevor and Tanner of Crowell; Kandi Shaw and husband, Perry, and daughter, Liv, of Crowell; one son, John Urquizo Jr., and wife, Michelle, and children, Brandon, Tristan and Jaxon of Vernon; one sister, Linda Werley of Pottsboro; three brothers, Daniel Urquizo Jr., of Pottsboro; Joe Urquizo and Jesse Urquizo, both of Crowell, and his parents, Daniel and Eva Urquizo Sr. Of Crowell.
   Memorials may be made to the Crowell Fire Department or a charity of choice.
   Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Womack-Manard Funeral Home in Crowell.
