Eugene Thomas

   Eugene Thomas, 95 of Vernon,  died on Sunday, June 26, 2016, in Vernon. Services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard Quiett officiating. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Thomas was born Sunday, Nov. 28, 1920 in Vernon. He was the son of the late Frank F. Thomas and the late Florence Chisholm Thomas. He married Naomi Brambeloe on Oct. 17, 1942 in Vernon.  She preceded him in death April 16, 2014. He was a lifetime area resident of Vernon. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in Australia. He was a retired electrician with the City of Vernon. He was a member Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a member of Fargo United Methodist Church in Fargo.
   He is survived by his daughter, Carla Clayton of Vernon; a brother, Bill Thomas of Northside; two grandchildren,  Angelia Matthys of Shertz, Texas, and Trey Clayton of Vernon; two great -grandchildren
   Grace Matthys and Griffin Matthys of Schertz,.
   Visitation will Monday, July 4, 2016 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home.
   Memorials can be made to Gene & Naomi Thomas Scholarship Fund at Vernon College.
