Gary Lynn Overstreet

Gary Lynn Overstreet, 76 of Chillicothe, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas.
Funeral services were held Tuesday Sept. 25, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Lowery officiating. Burial will be held at Big Valley Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home .
Gary was born Thursday, Dec. 18, 1941 in Pittsburg, Texas. He was the son of the late Elvis Overstreet and Susie Couch Overstreet. He was the husband of Glenda Overstreet. They married June 18, 1966 in Dallas, Texas. Gary served in the Navy for four years and the reserves for two years. He was a Dairyman for 47 years. He was a member of the Dairy Farmers of America and was on numerus boards and committees. He was a director and member of The National Brown Swiss Association and served as a director of the Texas Brown Swiss Association. He started his dairy in 1972.
He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife of the home Glenda Overstreet and his two sons, Michael Overstreet of Chillicothe, Texas and Steven Overstreet of Chillicothe, Texas, one daughter, Rhonda Brown of Cokeville, Wyo., one brother, Bruce Overstreet of Pittsburg, Texas, three half-brothers James Wallace, Ricky Wallace and Bobby Wallace all of Pittsburg, Texas; four sisters, Ina Lou Waldrep of Pittsburg, Texas, Mary Sue Smitherman of Monroe, La., Martha Kerr of Bossier City, La. and Linda Kay Shearin of Pittsburg, Texas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the Big Valley Cemetery or the National Brown Swiss Youth Program.
