Lion wrestlers place in tourneys

CLINTON, Okla. – The Vernon Lion boys wrestling traveled to Clinton on Saturday to participate in the Hub City Tournament and placed ninth overall.
In individual results, Truman Castleberry placed second in the 195-pound class with a score of 3-1 while Darren Carpenter placed second in the 152-pound class with a 3-1 score and Corbyn Sharp was fourth in the 120-pound class with a 3-2 score.

Tristan Monaghan 0-2, 113-pound class.
Corbyn Sharp 3-2 4th place, 120-pound class.
Eliseo Trejo 1-2, 126-pound class.
Andrew Allen 0-2, 132-pound class.
Caul Cook 1-2, 138-pound class.
Eric Stowers 1-2 ,152-pound class.
Eli Goodman 0-2, 182-pound class.
Team places 10th at Red River Classic
The team placed 10th overall at the Red River Classic it hosted on Jan. 19 at D.O. Fulton Gym. Marc Rodriguez placed first in the 285-pound class with a 3-0 score, Castleberry placed second with a 3-1 score in the 195-pound class, Carpenter placed third with a 4-1 score in the 152-pound class, Trejo placed sixth in the 126-pound class with a 2-3 score and Sharp placed sixth in the 120-pound class with a 3-3 score.
