Janice Darlene Monzingo

I   n the early morning of May 23, 2019 while surrounded by her children, Janice Darlene Monzingo peacefully drew her last breaths and went to be with her beloved family and friends who have passed before her. She lived her life with her heart and taught us all how to love. Stray animals to stray kids, friends, family or strangers, we never saw her turn anyone away. She was a Sunday school teacher, room mother, den mother and assisted with just about every Camp Fire activity she possibly could. She was a long-term member of the First Baptist Church and spent many years as a faithful volunteer at her church and the schools which her children attended.Born on June 19, 1946 to Maynard A. and Cassie F. Ganyer, she was a lifetime resident of Vernon, Texas. She married Mat Z. Monzingo on June 16, 1966. She is survived by her daughters, Marci T. Churchwell (husband Rusty) of Wichita Falls, Texas, Melissa K. Duncan (husband Rich) of Tulsa, Okla., and a son, Mathew Z. Monzingo, II (wife Tasha) of Vernon, Texas. Her life was further blessed with 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; Meagan, Randy, Reed, Ryder, Benjamyn, Jacob, Memory, Jonah, Joshua, Makenna, Stephanie, Nicholas, Patrick, Addison, Harper, Carter, Raelynn, Elizabeth and Aiden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard A. and Cassie F. Ganyer; her husband, Mat Z. Monzingo and a son and daughter.Janice was a blessing to those who knew her and loved her. Her legacy will live on in the lives of all those she touched. She will truly be missed but heaven is a sweeter place with her there.
