Jean Carolyn Hite

Jean Carolyn Hite, 87 of Vernon, Texas died on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019, in Vernon, Texas.

Services were held Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Western Trail Cowboy Church with Kyle Gosline and Rev. Ron Fox officiating. Interment was held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Jean was born Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1931 in Vernon, Texas; she was the daughter of the late W.B. Townsend and the late Aileen Dorsey Townsend. She married Dewey Hite on Oct. 28, 1972 in Vernon, He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2011. She had lived in Vernon all of her life. She was a beautician for many years she owned and operated Jean Beauty Shop.  She was a member of Western Trail Cowboy Church.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Brenda Hill of Rowlett, Texas, and Pam Gosline of Vernon, Texas; one brother, Bill Townsend of Fairview, Texas; her grandchildren: Britney and Matt Marcoe of Garland, Chris and Ronna Dunson, Cody and Melissa Dunson, Courtney and Roy Araiza all of Vernon, Kasey and Jay Whitten, Kyle and Lucia Gosline all of Lubbock; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son Bryan Dunson on April 18, 2017 and a step-son Ronnie Hite.

Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019 at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Sullivan Funeral Home.
