Julia Rosalez Shearer

Julia Rosalez Shearer passed away Wednesday, Feb 12, 2020 at the age of 83.Julia was born July 25, 1936 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Dionicio Rosalez and the late Anaclela De La Rosa Rosalez.She married Thomas E Shearer on July 2, 1959. She was a dedicated Military wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was a wife and mother while traveling to many Air Force Bases supporting her husband Thomas E Shearer who served our Country in the US Army and US Air Force. U.S. Bases to include; Altus Air Force Base, Aviano Air Force Base (Italy), Minot Air Force Base.After 30 years of Military life they returned home to Weston, West Virginia. Julia worked at the Glass Factory in Weston and St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Weston where she made the best homemade bread. They later moved to Electra, Texas to be closer to their daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Shearer in 1994. Julia lived in Davidson, Oklahoma for many years and moved to Vernon, Texas in her last few years. Julia loved traveling, gardening, baking, canning, hunting, fi shing and being around all her children. She was a devoted Christian and attended St. Helens Catholic Church in Frederick, Okla.She is survived by fi ve daughters and sons-in-law; Donna and Ricky Pitts of Vernon, Texas, Mary and Ricky Velez of Wichita Falls, Texas, Nita and Tony Velez of Davidson, Okla.; Clara and Rodnie Mize of Vernon, Texas and Kristie and Monte Kerr of Iowa Park, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law; Rachel and Russell Carter of Wisconsin, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Pete and Josie Rosalez of Vernon, Texas and Maurice and Virgina Rosalez of Vernon, Texas and two sisters-in-law; Rita Esterle and Eileen Friedman both of Ohio.Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 17, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ric Rosalez offi ciating. Interment will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020 at 5 p.m to 7 p,m. at Sullivan Funeral Home.
