Mary Ann Conway

Mary Ann Conway, 77 of Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020 at home, surrounded by love after a short battle with cancer.Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Derrell Monday offi ciating and Pastor Chris Milner assisting. Burial was at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.Mary Ann was born on Sept. 27, 1942 in Amarillo, Texas to the late Roy Martin Jr and the late Angie Alene Richie Martin of Vernon. She was a graduate of Vernon High School. Mary Ann married Clyde Daniel Conway on Nov. 7, 1959 in Vernon. Life took them to many places through the years including Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Nevada. In 2001, Mary Ann retired from Lubbock County and she and Clyde moved to Vernon. Mary Ann was a member of First Baptist Church in Vernon and often volunteered her time and service to others in the Community. Her faith in the Lord was unwavering. She loved staying busy and quilting with her best friend, Carol Milner. Her great love was, without a doubt, her family. Her love was fi erce, pure and unconditional. Some of her best memories were often made on road trips to Houston and Georgia to see her Grandchildren and their families. She lived a beautiful and blessed life.MaryAnn is survived by her husband, Clyde Conway of Vernon, sister, Judy Fortune and husband Dick of Vernon. She is also survived by four children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Children, Ricky Conway and wife Margie of Newnan, Georgia; Chrissie Straley and husband Dave of Union, Kentucky; Danny Conway and wife Cheryl of Jackson, Georgia and LeaAnn Skinner of Vernon. Grandchildren, Renee Driscoll of Houston, Texas; Daniel Conway and wife Amanda of Monticello, Georgia; Ashley Campbell and wife Tiffany of Chicago, Illinois; Chad Conway of Newnan, Georgia; Heather Duke and husband Steve of Pine Mountain, Georgia; Kris Pilcher of Atlanta, Georgia; Scott Straley and wife Perri of Little Elm, Texas and Ty King of Wichita Falls, Texas. Great-Grandchildren, Hannah and Berlyn Driscoll; Drake, Cale and Blayne Conway; Paxton and Ryker Campbell. Olivia, Matthew and Hayley Duke. Visitation was Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Sullivan Funeral Home.Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association, First Baptist Church or Hospice of Wichita Falls.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.sullivanfuneralhomevernon.com.
