The City of Vernon released the following statement: “The coronavirus outbreak may cause some of our citizens to experience financial difficulty due to illness, quarantine, or disruption from work. Temporarily, the city will be closing City Hall to public access. This action is being taken to better protect our staff and citizens from the COVID-19 virus. Utility payments may be made through the drive-in window or on-line at the City of Vernon’s webpage located at http://www.vernontx.gov/. Simply click utility billing located at the bottom of the page.
“Building permits may be obtained by driving through the drive-in window as well.
“Municipal Court Payments may be paid by telephone and on the webpage at http://www.vernontx.gov/.
“All other inquiries should be directed to the city by telephone. The main number of the City of Vernon is 940-552-2581. The number of Municipal Court is 940-552-2058. For fire and police emergencies, please call 9-1-1.
“Wilbarger Appraisal District offices will be closed to public access as well. If you need assistance, please feel free to call our main number at 940-553-1857. Our staff will be working hard to assist you by phone or email. For specific tax information, you may continue to utilize our webpage at http:www.wilbargerappraisal.org.”
