Jimmie Raymond Anderson, 70 of Vernon, Texas died on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, in Wichita Falls, Texas.Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Leo Brittain Field at Lion Stadium with Rev. George Records offi ciating. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.Jimmie was born Saturday, July 22, 1950, in Vernon, Texas. He was the son of the late Jimmie Elmore Anderson and the late Louise Huffer Anderson. He married Mary Jane Richie on June 8, 1974, in Vernon, Texas.Jimmie graduated from Vernon High School in 1968 in Vernon, Texas. He attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas.Jimmie briefl y worked at Hardeman Grain and Seed before working for H.A. Richie building houses in Green Acres, helping at S & R Glass as well as working at the Skating Rink. He also ran the slot car tracks at the Skating Rink. He worked at Vernon Parts for many years before becoming the Parts Manager at Krebs Motor Company. In 1990, Jimmie started working for the Vernon Independent School District as the Transportation Director. Throughout his 30 years of dedicated service to V.I.S.D., he was entrusted to oversee several other departments. His fi nal job title was Transportation and Facilities Director. He was responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the school buses, grounds, building maintenance and the custodial departments.Jimmie was actively involved as a Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts Leader for many years while his son was going through school. Jimmie was a member of the Spring Lake Rod & Gun Club. He also served as Chairman of the Wilbarger County Historical Society. Jimmie was an active member of the Vernon Lions Club for 40 years.Jimmie is survived by his wife Jane Anderson, one daughter Amanda Raney and her husband Dan, one son Kyle Anderson, Daughter-in-Law Lori Anderson, three grandchildren Dezmond, Calissa and Dequan Anderson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Tommie Anderson and Grover Anderson.Memorials can be made to the Vernon Lions Club in support of their Kid League Baseball Program P.O.
