Lady Lions tie for fourth in District 7-3A; tiebreaker set for Friday

Vernon tied for fourth place with Jacksboro in District 7-3A volleyball after the two teams finished with the same record and split the season series. That leaves all of the 7-3A playoff picture cloudy.

A tie-breaker game between Vernon and Jacksboro on Friday at 4:30 in Wichita Falls will decide seeding for the whole district due to new UIL rules splitting 3A into two divisions. The two highest enrollment schools qualifying for the playoffs will be Division 1. If Vernon finishes 4th, then Holliday (364 enrollment) would be the 1 seed and Henrietta (295) the 2 seed in Division 2. Iowa Park (541 enrollment) would be the 1 seed and Vernon (496) the 2 seed in Division 1. A Jacksboro 4th place finish makes Henrietta the No. 1 seed and Jacksboro (348 enrollment) the 2 seed in Division 2 and Holliday the 1 seed and Iowa Park the 2 seed in Division 1.
