Richard Weddle
Richard Weddle, age 84, of Electra, Texas, passed away
Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, peacefully surrounded by his family
in Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16,
2024, at First Baptist Church of Electra with Ryan Vanderland,
Pastor of First Baptis
t Church, and Joe Ainsworth of Electra,
o ciating. Interment with military honors will follow in
Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral
Home of Electra.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.,
Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Richard was born July 19, 1940, in Electra, Texas to the late
George Baker Weddle and Alma Margaret Urban Weddle.
He joined the Texas Army National Guard where he
faithfully served his country.
Richard and Vicki Marline Taylor were married Dec. 30, 1970. She preceded him in
death on Jan. 1, 1999.
Throughout his life, he was a contract pumper for various oil and gas companies. One
of Richard’s favorite things to do daily was making all of his leases.
He was always the life of the party with his jokes and humor. Richard had an infectious
laugh that would light up the room. He loved his wife and children immensely. Richard
would travel anytime he was able to see his children and grandchildren. He followed his
grandchildren in everything they did. Friends were also an important part of his life and
he always tried to make time for them. Richard also enjoyed hunting and shing.
He was longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Electra where he enjoyed
worshipping with family and friends and served as an usher.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Weddle of Bourbon, Missouri; one son, Taylor
Forester and wife, Shelley of San Diego; one brother, Lawrence Weddle of Electra; two
sisters, Geneva Reid and husband, Wilbur of Keller and Janette Bentley of Big Springs;
ve grandchildren, Heather Mabrey, Jamen Weddle, Regina(Percy) Forester, Jaden
Forester and Ciera Forester; one great-granddaughter, Juniper; his special niece, Nickie
Hanks and husband, David of Electra; his special nephew, Bryan Weddle and wife, Vonda
of Electra; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Richard was also preceded in death by one grandson, Levi Weddle; three brothers, Bob,
Lionel and Raymond; and one sister, Ruby.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church of Electra, 406 West Garrison
Ave., Electra, Texas 76360.
