CHARLES HENRY FOWLER

Charles Henry Fowler was born Nov. 14, 1939, in Hope,
Arkansas. He was the son of Henry C. and Hazel Hare Fowler.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 4 at
the Big Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Sullivan Funeral
Home.
Charles was educated in the schools of Hope, Arkansas
and earned a PharmD degree from the University of Arkansas
College of Pharmacy, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Charles married Carleen Harris in the First Presbyterian
Church in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Aug. 15, 1959. He went on
to be a successful Eli Lilly pharmaceutical representative in
Fayetteville Arkansas and Amarillo Tx. Charles and Carleen moved to Quanah, Tx
in 1972 where they owned and operated Fowler Pharmacy.
During his pharmacy career Charles served the communities of Childress, Wichita
Falls, Chillicothe, Electra, Henrietta and Throckmorton as a member of the Bethania
Regional Hospital pharmacy team. Charles also served and was named Employee
of the Year at Wilbarger General Hospital and concluded his pharmacy career at

Vernon State Hospital.
Charles was an Elder of the Presbyterian Church and co-founder of “Kid
Connection” in Quanah. Charles and Carleen farmed and ranched for many years
together in Medicine Mounds, Texas.
Charles is preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 63 years,
Carleen Harris Fowler. Charles is survived by his children -Kathleen Fowler of
Wichita Falls, Melinda Fowler Brinkley and husband, Allen Brinkley, of Houston,
grandchildren Bryce Brinkley and wife, Mary Brinkley, of Houston, Sean Ditmore
of Vernon, Evan Ditmore and wife, Kye Ditmore, of Waco, Mikey Ditmore and
wife Ashley Ditmore of Lubbock, and great-grandchildren Emma Brinkley and Lily
Brinkley of Houston and Charlotte Ditmore of Waco.
