Vivian Roberson
Vivian Roberson, 92 of Vernon, died on Saturday, March 1, 2014,in Vernon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Fox and the Rev. Toby Castleberry. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Roberson was born Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1921 in Spur. She was the daughter of the late Lem Parsons and the late Mamie Grizzle Parsons. She married Emery Lee Roberson on Sept. 3, 1938 in Lorenzo. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2001. She moved to Vernon in 1995 from Floydada where she had lived for 50 years. She was a talented artist and had her on shop, Vivian’s Creative Ceramics, in Floydada and a woodworking shop with her husband. She was nursery coordinator for many years at the Floydada Baptist Church. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, David Roberson of Moraga, Calif.; two daughters, Beckie McNeece and Hope Ragan, both of Vernon; three brothers, Mark Parsons, Curtis Parsons; one sister, Jan Brown; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Edith Parsons; two brothers ,Henry and Sam Parsons, and one sister, Edith Pierce.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 at Sullivan Funeral Home.
