Churches to hold community Palm Sunday service

The traditional community Palm Sunday service will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at 6 p.m., at the Second Baptist Church presented by the Vernon Ministerial Alliance as all denominations are invited to come together for the special event as Holy Week begins.
Rev. Ric Rosalez, Second Baptist Church pastor, will give the welcome with prayer by Pastor Robert Diekmann, Redeeming Grace. Special music during the service will be presented by the Community Children’s Choir and Community Youth Choir. Scripture readings will be by Brother Richard Keeling, Community Evangelist, and Pastor Norris Thomas, Wood Street Baptist Church. Pastor Gib Baskerville will give the offertory prayer. The Second Baptist Church Praise Team will lead music for the worship service. Pastor Brian Pounds of First Assembly of God, will give the closing prayer.
Pastor Matthew Crewse of Faith United Methodist Church and Bryan Nix of Wilbarger Street Church of Christ will bring the message for the service.
The service will launch the Holy Week activities which will include the traditional Men’s Breakfasts hosted by the various churches and held at 7 a.m., each morning with all men invited to attend.
