United Fund tops $85,000

With the addition of $2,152 pledges and donations during the last week, the 2020 Wilbarger County United Fund currently stands at $85, 074.40.

United Fund has set a goal for the coming year of $136, 500 in allocations for eight local agencies plus administrative expenses.

Allocations are as follows: Boys & Girls Club, $62,000; Camp Fire, $17,000; Meals on Wheels, $23,750; Salvation Army, $11,500; Senior Citizen Transportation, $7,125; New Visions Economic Development Corp., $4,000; Wilbarger County Child Welfare, $4,000; Wilbarger Humane Society, $4,500, and administrative expenses, $2,625.

Dorothy Martinez is serving as United Fund president this year with Amber Marsh as secretary-treasurer, and Sabre Sharp as vice president.

Recent donors include: Joel and Janice Lowry, $200; Mr. and Mrs. Tim Schur, $50; Dr. Marvin and Patsy Sharp, $200; Helen McKay, $50; Darren and Lindsay Streit, $500; Don and Joni Streit, $200; Yamparika Club, $100; Charles and Joyce Ashley, $50; OK Concrete Company, $100.

Also, Bevo’s Drive In, $100; Patsy Donges, $50; Dr. Carl H. Craighead, $100; Mark and Deana Lehman, $75; Wolff Chiropractic, $100; Paul and Donna Stribling, $100; Sharon Browning, $100; Sue Ann Streit, $52; Larry and Belinda Drennan, $25.
