WGH Implementing Tighter Restrictions
Wilbarger General Hospital continues to focus on preparation efforts regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are following suggested infection prevention protocols and guidance from the CDC.
As recommended by the CDC and out of caution, we are implementing visitor restrictions and close monitoring of all individuals who enter the hospital. Beginning Tuesday, March 17th, all visitors will be directed to Emergency Room entrance. All other entrances to the hospital will be closed. In addition, everyone, including employees, will be required to take a temperature reading upon entering the facility.
The WGH Auxiliary Gift Shop will be closed until further notice and the WGH Classic Café will not be open to the public for dining.
Should an individual have reasonable suspicion they have been exposed to COVID-19 and present with symptoms, procedures have been implemented to reduce exposure to others and better protect our community. Patients who fit the criteria above are asked to call 940-552-1199 for assistance. An area has been set up in the ambulance bay outside the emergency department where patients can be assessed in the comfort of their vehicle while reducing possible exposure to other patients and guests inside the emergency department.
WGH is working diligently to stay up to date on information as it is released from the CDC and will keep the community informed as new information develops.
