The Wilbarger County Grand Jury recently convened and returned indictments against two individuals in counterfeiting cases

Alicia Rae Berry was indicted for the felony 3 offense of forgery. The incident allegedly occurred on Dec. 9, 2019 in Vernon. On that date, police received a report that a woman attempted to pass a $100 bill at YesWay, around 1:45 p.m. The clerk flagged it as possibly counterfeit and the woman trying to use it fled the scene. A short while later, at 5:14 p.m., police were called to McDonald’s. A clerk again flagged a $100 bill as possibly fake and police were notified. The woman, that allegedly attempted to pass the bill, was caught by police as she attempted to drive away from the parking lot.
