Early voting underway — and very slow

Early voting began Monday to pick a successor to Drew Springer in Texas HD 68. Four Republicans and one Democrat filed for the special election including John Berry, a Jacksboro financial planner; Jason Brinkley, former Cooke County judge; Craig Carter, a former candidate for Senate District 30; David Spiller, a Jacksboro attorney and school board trustee; and Charles D. Gregory, a retired postal worker from Childress.

County Clerk Jana Kennon reported 10 people voted in Wilbarger County on Monday, and 18 on Tuesday.

Early voting continues this week and next Tuesday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wilbarger Auditorium,  with the election on Jan. 23.
