Betty “Mee Mom” Waggoner,

Betty “Mee Mom” Waggoner, 85 of Vernon, Texas died on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, in Vernon, Texas.Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Toby Castleberry and Rev. Ron Fox. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.Betty was born Wednesday, April 1, 1936 in Vernon, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Waverly “WH” Hodges and the late Evelyn Dennis Hodges. She married Dee Wayne “Dee Dad” Waggoner on June 28, 1957 in Vernon, Texas he preceded her in death June 22, 2016. She owned and operated Waggoner Office Supply for many years, she also worked for Vernon College as Dean of Student Secretary, she was a Vernon School substitute teacher. She taught sewing at the Boys and Girls Club for many years, she was a Campfire Leader, and a Cub Scout Leader. She was a member of the Jr. Service League and numerous other Civic Groups. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School Class, Youth and Young Married Couples Classes. She was head of the Hand Bell Group. She was a homemaker. Betty is survived by her son, Chris Waggoner and wife Connie of Vernon, Texas, daughter, Dee Ann Clifton and husband Brant of Vernon, Texas, her grandchildren; Kyle Clifton (Haley), Whitney Waggoner, Kelly Patterson (Doug) and Garrett Waggoner (Allison) and great-grandchildren; Parker, Porter, Palmer, Brayden, Praylee, Macelyn, Jynsen, Zachary, Brynnlee and Zoey.
