Rev. Leland Ray Hall

Rev. Leland Ray Hall of Chillicothe, Tx., was ushered
into the arms of Jesus Thursday evening February 3,
2022. He was 84. Born in Paducah, Ky., February 2,
1938. Leland was the son of the late Ralph (Doc) Hall
and Lena Bernice Garrett Hall. He surrendered his life to
Christ at the tender age of 14, and played piano for Grace
Baptist Church in Paducah.
Later, he traveled and played piano for a tent revivalist,
then the Smith Brother’s Quartet. He was ordained in
1962 in the First Baptist Church of Mammoth, Ariz.
He attended Grand Canyon College in Phoenix, Ariz.
University of Arizona at Tucson, Ariz. and Southwestern
Seminary Extension in Tucson. He pastored several churches in Arizona before
moving to Texas in 1973. He was an Urban minister and Radio Evangelist after
moving to Wichita Falls, Tx. He was an ordained Southern Baptist Minister, and
also a member of Independent Assemblies Fellowship. He spent his life building and
planting churches. He was also a bi-vocational minister, operating a crane on the side.
He got excited every time he saw an extra large crane. The last church he planted was
Victory Temple Church of Grand Prairie, Tx.
He married the love of his life, Glenda, in 1993. Together they were a dynamic
team, devoting their lives and talents to minister to the lost and win souls to Jesus.
They ministered in evangelistic ministry for two years. They pastored Victory Temple
in Grand Prairie from 1995 to 2012 and served as interim pastors at First Baptist
Church of Chillicothe from 2012 to his retirement in 2013 due to health issues.
Leland had a love for soul winning. He spread the gospel everywhere he went.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Mickey
Karr, a nephew, Brian Douglas and a great-nephew Zachary Douglas. Those left
to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 28 years, Glenda Hall; one daughter,
Stefanie Mack and husband Norris; two sons, Derick Hall and John Hall;  ve step
daughters, Suzanne Brooks and husband Michael, Rebecca Huey, Aimee Sawyer and
husband Bill, Meredith DeBorde and husband Eric, Donna McCarthy and husband
Cecil; one step-son, Robert Pounds; two loving sisters; Ruth Karr, Mary Ellen
Knowles and husband Gary; three granddaughters, Ashley Hall, Amber Whitener,
Moriah Hall;  ve step granddaughters, Jordan Farmer and husband Will, Caitlin
Hawkins, Gabrielle Hawkins, Brenna Volante and husband James, Carley Pounds; 8
step grandsons; Blake Brooks and wife Katelynn, Bryce Huey, Ben Huey, Brayden
DeBorde. Brigham DeBorde, Gavin Boatright, Colin and Jaden Pounds; two great
grandsons, Zayne Bradley and Ezekiel Hall; one great granddaughter, Summer
Bradley; four step great grandsons, Grayson Brooks, Ethan, Alex and Nolan Volante;
one step great grand-daughter; Savannah Brooks; three nieces, Roxanne Pool and
husband Paul, Danita Harris, Dalena Kate Douglas; three nephews William Ralph
Karr, John Robert Karr, Richard Leland Douglas and wife Tracy: several other loving
great nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A celebration of Leland’s life will be held on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at Victory
Temple Church, 2101 Acosta, Grand Prairie, Tx. 75051. Visitation will be from 1 to
3 p.m. followed by funeral services at 3. He will be taken to Mt. Kenton Cemetery,
Paducah, Ky. for burial.
