Claudia Bennett

Claudia Bennett, 74 of Vernon, Texas went to be
with her Lord on Monday, February 7, 2022
surrounded by her loving husband, close friends
and caregivers.
Claudia was born Wednesday, January 7, 1948 in
Dallas, Tx., to Richard Claude (RC) Jones and
Sylvia (Jo) Tinsley Jones. She was raised in Vernon
and attended Vernon High School. She married the
love of her life, Marvin Bennett, on June 21, 1986
in Vernon. She worked for the US Postal Service in
Wichita Falls, Texas. During her service she was
elected as local union president, advocating for all
Postal employees. After leaving the US Postal
Service, she pursued her passion of antiques by
opening a store in Vernon, Classics Gifts. Her store
gave local collectors and artists an opportunity to
display and sell their collections to support their
families. She was a proponent of social causes and
advocating for those that society had discarded.
She found her calling volunteering with the youth of Center South before its
closing. Claudia was a member of the Western Trail Cowboy Church. She was a
champion of animal rights; fostering and arranging transport for a countless
number of pets in need of a home. She loved listening to the blues and finding
new renditions of her favorite song, ‘Hallelujah’. She was an avid reader who
was able to articulate a position with logic and humor. She was loved by her
family, friends and community.
