Area churches plan Easter activities
Items on this page, unless otherwise
stated, are for the week of April 17-23.
–Holy Family Catholic Church: Daily mass is held Monday, Thursday, & Friday at 12 p.m. Reconciliation is held Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p,m. Youth rosary is Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. in the youth chapel.
Religious Education starts with mass at 5:45 p.m. followed by class at 6:15 p.m. Knights of Columbus will meet April 19 at 6 p.m.
–Wilbarger Street Church of Christ: On Easter Sunday, April 17, Made to Praise will be at 8:30 a.m. Bible Class will be at 9:30 a.m. Worship service will be at 10:30 a.m. At 6 p.m., there will be an Easter service.
On Monday, the food pantry will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. On Tuesday, the Chapel Class will be held at 10 a.m.
On Wednesday, Manna & More will be served at 6 p.m. KidStreet will be at 6:30 p.m. Bible Class will be at 7 p.m.
On Thursday, Young Adult Night will be held at 7 p.m.
–Fargo Church of Christ: On April 17 at 9:30 the Bible study will be held, studying Colossians 1. At the 10:30 service the sermon will be given. The
evening 6: p.m. service lesson will be brought by Joe Dale Wilson.
–Faith United Methodist Church: Easter Sunrise Service is at 7 a.m. followed by breakfast No regular Sunday School that day. Happy Huggers is on Aprill 13 at noon at the church. Maundy Thursday is on April 14 at 6 p.m. Worship on Easter Sunday is at 10:45, using hymns, “Christ The Lord Is Risen Today”,”Up From The Grave He Arose”,”- Because He Lives”.
Monday Morning prayer group will be at 9 a.m. at Marlene Huffers’ home. Bible Study is at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the church, using Joshua, Judges and Ruth.
–First United Methodist Church: On Sunday, April 17, Easter Sunday, the First Praise contemporary service will be at 9 a.m., and the traditional service will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Anthony Inman will give the message in both services. Sunday School for all ages will be at 10 a.m. with an Easter Egg Hunt to be held.
On Tuesday and Thursday, the Yoga Class will meet at 5:15 p.m. in the parlor.
The AfterSchool program will be held on Wednesday. Mission Kitchen will be held at 6 p.m., on Wednesday followed by the Dinner Church Service.
The Chancel Choir will practice at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Thursday, April 21, Jubilate Handbells will practice at 5:15 p.m. First Praise will practice on Thursday, April; 21, at 6 p.m.
–First Presbyterian Church: Sunday, April 17, First Presbyterian Church has an Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at 6:45 a.m. at 8201 Highway 70. Easter Brunch will be at 9:30 a.m. in Staub Hall, Easter egg hunt for children 12 and under will follow brunch in Bolton Park..
Worship service is at 10:50 a.m. in the sanctuary and on Facebook with the message, “The Word of Life”, coming from Isaiah 25:6-9, John 20:1-18, 1 John
1:1-4, Communion will be served;.
Tuesday, April 19, a Community Resource Meeting will be at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, April 20, Men’s Bible Study is at 7 a.m., Adult’s and Children’s Bible Study at 6 p.m.; Thursday, April 21, Common Threads will be at 10 a.m., Camp Fire Girls will meet at 4 p.m., Eagle Flats Brats will practice at 4:45 p.m.
Monday, April 25, Cupboard by Grace will be open for distribution at 3:30 p.m.
Wilbarger County Ministerial Alliance held the Community Easter Service on Sunday, April 10, at the First Presbyterian Church. There was a tremendous turn out, with approximately 200 in attendance. Pastor Luke Morrison of the Western Trail Cowboy Church, gave a stirring message. Mary Jane Ethington lead the community choir in several pieces that were extremely moving.
