Swaize Lee takes reins as new VC rodeo coach
is the new rodeo coach at Vernon College.
“Vernon College has a rich rodeo history and I wanted to be a part of that legacy, and also to put my own stamp on it going in to the future. I really wanted to be a coach in Texas, where I am from. I already feel like this is my home and believe Vernon College rodeo has a bright future,” she said.
Lee is a native of Brownfield, Texas. She most recently was an assistant coach at New Mexico Junior College, where she also earned an associates degree before completing her college experience at Texas Tech. As team captain at Texas Tech, she helped the team earn the 2020 Southwest Region Reserve Champion Women’s Team title.
“I always had kids over at my house, practicing with me. From a young age I knew I wanted to be a rodeo coach – to spread knowledge and the love of it to future generations,” she said.
