Maxine Wilkinson, 90 of Oklaunion, Tx. passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022, in Wichita Falls, Texas.Funeral services were held Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Derrell Monday officiating. Burial followed at the Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.Maxine was born Thursday, September 10,1931 in Vernon, Texas, to the late O.R. Yarbrough and the late Bertice Cross Yarbrough. Maxine married Warren G. “Bill” Wilkinson on December 10, 1948 in Elliott, Texas. He passed away on June 2, 2018. Maxine had worked as a secretary for the First Baptist Church. Maxine served several roles at First Baptist Church including teaching Sunday School classes, she played the piano at the church and sang in the choir. Maxine was a member of the Home Extension Club in Vernon. Maxine loved to work in her yard and garden, she was a very talented seamstress and she loved to bake.Maxine is survived by two sons, Robert Wilkinson of Lititz, Pa., and Scott Wilkinson of Elliott, Tx.; two daughters, Diane Rogers of Harrold, Tx. and Robin Woodrick of Sugarland, Tx. Maxine also leaves behind eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents O.R. and Bertice Yarbrough, her husband Warren G. “Bill” Wilkinson, one grandson John Robert Wilkinson and one sister June Yarbrough. Visitation was held Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home.Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
