Weekend events planned at Copper Breaks SP

A couple of events are planned this weekend at Cooper breaks State Park, located off of Highway 6 between Crowell and Quanah.

On Friday, July 29, you can take a night hike with a ranger, at 9 p.m. Reservations are required. Call CBSP Headquarters to sign up to explore the Dark Side of Copper Breaks. Do you ever wonder what lurks beyond the darkness of night? Let’s find out as we take a night hike down Bull Canyon Trail. We will hike for about a mile, spend some time looking at “spider eyes” and scorpions. If we are really quiet we might have the opportunity to hear and maybe see some of the wildlife that comes out at night.

On Saturday, July 30 from 4 to 5 p.m., you can learn archery. Archery equipment will be provided so just bring the family and try your skills. Meet at the day use area across from the Cottonwood Camping area. Optional Items to Bring include Sunscreen, bug spray, lawn chairs, and a jacket or coat.

These events may be canceled in the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
