City’s water supply is in strong shape
The City of Vernon’s water supply is in good shape, even as neighboring communities, such as Quanah, have implemented conservation plans due a dwindling supply.
Vernon draws drinking water from a series of 28 wells in the northern part of Wilbarger County and uses a separate series of 10 high-nitrate water wells in Vernon for industry and watering parks.
Reports presented to the Vernon City Commission as part of Tuesday night’s regular July meeting show the city’s wells are in good shape and producing an abundant water supply.
