Marvin Bennett
Marvin Bennett, 75 of Vernon, Texas, died on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, in Wichita Falls, Texas.Services will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Western Trail Cowboy Church under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Luke Morrison. Marvin was born on Oct. 25, 1946 in Lahaina, Hawaii. He was the son of the late Roscoe Bennett and the late Cecilia Kaniho Bennett. He married Claudia Jones on June 21, 1986 in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2022. He was a devoted husband, caring for her during their 36 years of marriage. Marvin proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with his late wife, children and grandchildren. He was the owner of Marvin’s Transmissions, personally servicing customers throughout Texoma. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, woodworking and classic cars where you would see his gentle, patient, and kind nature. Marvin was an original member of the Western Trail Cowboy Church. He was involved in the initial stages of development for the church, devoting much time and effort, creating a place for the community to worship together where he gave his life to Jesus Christ and received water baptism from his friend and pastor, David Fox.Marvin is survived by his children, Marvin Brent Bennett and wife Tracy of Vernon, Tx., Kristi Charese Eidson and husband Jeff of Elkin, N.C., Michael Bennett of Frisco, Tx., Daniel Bennett and wife Gloria of Haslet, Tx., and Kayla Bearden and husband Rusty of Edmond, Okla.; his grandchildren, Nathaniel Bennett, Gabriella “Gigi” Kakouras, Alexandra Kakouras, Julia Anderson, Mallory Bennett, Landon Bennett, Travis Bennett and Natalie Lloyd.; his siblings Brad Bennett, Laverne Earls, Wayne Bennett and wife Beverly, and Merle Kromer and husband James. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Claudia Bennett and a daughter Christi Baker.
