Chris Dunson has been named Executive General Manager of Vernon Auto Group, effective Sept. 1, 2022.
The Vernon native graduated from Vernon High School in 1994 and has worked at the local dealership for the past 16 years in a variety of roles before taking over the leadership role this last month. Dunson is married to Ronna and they have four children and three grandchildren.
“I am excited to lead Vernon Auto Group into this next chapter. I want people to know we are still here, stronger than ever and we want to continue to be a partner with this great community. We employ local people, and we are invested in our hometown. We want to take care of the people of this community with a renewed focus on customer service. I have an open-door policy, I am available anytime to assist with any issues,” Dunson said. “Our entire manager staff is here to take care of all of our guests.”
As one of his priorities, Dunson wants to bring a new emphasis on the Service Department.
“We have Certified Master Technicians here ready to do all we can to meet your needs,” Dunson said.
The Service Department is available Monday through Saturday by appointment by calling 940-552-2555.
Dunson said the challenges the national car industry faced in recent years with inventory are starting to ease up, and he believes the dealership has a lot to offer local guests looking for a new or pre- owned vehicle.
“We were challenged for several years with inventory restrictions. The good news is that is easing. We have 200 Ford Super Duty’s being built and in transit. We are taking orders for 2023 models. We have Rams here and more on the way and we also have GMs coming. Will we fill back up with 2,000 vehicles on the lot overnight, no, but we are getting there,” he said.
