Wrestling clinic planned next week
A wrestling clinic for incoming 7th thru 12th grade students will be held June 10 through 14 at the multipurpose room at Leo Brittain Field at Lion Stadium. There will be two clinic sessions each day, with Session 1 being held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Session 2 being held from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Instructors for the clinic are former VISD wrestling coaches Tom Scott and Ken Kenner, and former VHS wrestler Gabe Powell.

In person registration will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 10, at the VHS Fieldhouse. Each wrestler must have a parent/guardian complete a waiver form before the wrestler will be allowed to participate in the clinic.
During the camp the fundamentals of wrestling will be covered including when wrestlers start in neutral, bottom or top positions. Wrestlers will all levels of experience are invited to participate in the camp.
Those who participate in the clinic will also be treated to a Pool Party at the City Aquatic Center on Friday, June 21. The party will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Also invited to the Pool Party are all Youth Wrestling Team members, as well as all VMS and VHS wrestlers and their parents. Food and drink will be provided, but RSVPs are requested.
